Wel, if you havent been following the news or caught the trailers of Spidey 3 be sure to check them out. But what Im actually excited about is that they are including one of my favourite characters Venom. Im going to refrain from going into geek-speak and explaining all his backstory, but those who dont know of Eddie Brock or Venom and want to...then click here. Thank the interwebz for Wikipedia!
But - I already knew that I hear some of you cry. True, the news of the Spidey villans has been out for months. But its what I stumbled across yesterday after learning there was leaked footage that has me squirming. Its actual footage of Venom from Spiderman 3. Its the big toothy Venom we all love! I found a slowed down gif showing Venom in all his symbiotic glory.
I guess it can be considered a spoiler, which is why I wont post the visual gif on the blog itself. BUT if your interested in seeing it, then click here and indulge yourself in its black venomy goodness.
Well, I just wanted to share that. Yes, Im a geek. ^^;

Cool! But does he look a lil scrawny to you in that clip?
We have this issue with any comic book movie. Characters are drawn with impossible musculature and proportions, and "muscle-suits" just look We-Todd-It.
Actually, Ive read up on this. I thought the EXACT same thing. I want my venom to be beefy. Apparently when hes properly matured hes is physically pretty huge.
The differences he has are: his tongue is shorter then in the comics.
He has that same sort of textured webbing on his costume JUST like spiderman...with Venoms crazy viens.
Also, the white squares on both of the back of his hands arnt there either.
Im pretty sure Venom is going to be all CG. I dont think Topher Grace can pull off the suit, I think it would be too difficlt. But we'll have to wait and see.
oh - when I say matured. This image of Venom is when the suit firs completely wraps around Eddie in the movie. So Im sure when hes had more time to bond he'll get bigger. (Apparently a leaked image of a CG model of the movie Venom shows him being BEEFED up)
I just hope they let Venom say - 'I want to eat your brains!'

Yeah, the symbiote is the only thing good to come out of the secret wars. It's gonna be cool. Plus, it looks like they nailed the casting on sandman.
Oh I totally agree with you on Sandman. Sam is a HUGE Spidey fan, its great that for a movie franchise they actually got the RIGHT director! I trust Sam Raimi wont let us down!
